Arbutin is normally combined with other active ingredients and has been used as skin whitening agent since 1960’s. This complex mechanism will stabilize the Vitamin C without effecting its structures as Vitamin C in its pure state is unstable and can be broken down easily when subjected to external element, which in this case is the UV exposure. Vitamin C has good whitening properties. Apart for the suppression of melanin formation, this series also targets to re-define the skin texture as to permit the light reflection to be more evenly on skin, which will increase the skin radiance appearance.
